Privacy Policy

Medly Education Advisory Sdn. Bhd. ("Medly", "we", "us") operates the website medly.help and provides education counselling and university placement services in Malaysia. This policy explains how we handle personal data in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia.

1. Data we collect

When you submit an enquiry, book a consultation or use our Course Match service, we may collect: your name, email address, phone number, academic results and certificates, intended field and destination of study, budget range, and any information you volunteer in messages. If a parent or guardian enquires on behalf of a student under 18, we collect the guardian's consent together with the student's details.

2. Why we collect it

• To prepare course, university and scholarship recommendations for you.
• To submit applications to universities and scholarship bodies you have approved.
• To contact you about your enquiry by phone, email or messaging apps.
• To meet legal and accreditation obligations that apply to education counsellors.
• To improve our guides and services using aggregated, de-identified statistics.

3. Who we share it with

We share your data only with: (a) universities, colleges and scholarship providers you ask us to apply to; (b) government bodies where an application legally requires it (for example, visa or EMGS processing); and (c) service providers who host our systems under confidentiality agreements. We never sell personal data, and we do not share your details with unrelated marketers.

4. How long we keep it

Enquiry records are kept for 24 months from your last contact with us. Records of completed placements are kept for 7 years to satisfy audit and accreditation requirements, after which they are securely destroyed.

5. Your rights under the PDPA

You may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw consent to further processing, or ask us to delete data we are not legally required to retain. Write to [email protected] or post your request to the address below; we respond within 21 days.

6. Security

Data is stored on access-controlled systems, transmitted over encrypted connections, and available only to counsellors working on your case. Paper documents you bring to consultations are returned to you or shredded.
